Young entrepreneur receives grant for new business

Young entrepreneur Nicole Wells has received a Business Incentive Grant from Test Valley Borough Council for her start-up business VIMADA.

Nicole, 22, launched her business earlier this year to provide graphic design solutions for small to medium sized businesses. She hopes to progress to working with larger corporations as her business grows.

Having completed an Advanced Marketing Diploma at Andover College, Nicole has worked and trained within the commercial graphic design and marketing field for several years. She said: “Earlier this year I decided to take the plunge and go solo with VIMADA. Although it was daunting at the time, I needed to establish myself in my field. Test Valley Borough Council’s Business Incentive Grant scheme is perfect for people like me because it provides ongoing business support as well as a financial incentive.”

Local borough councillor, Maureen Flood, added: “I am delighted to present Nicole with this £500 grant. She has huge ambition and I am confident that she will continue to grow her business from strength to strength. Her enthusiasm for her work is admirable and I wish her all the best with her venture.”

Test Valley Borough Council’s Business Incentive Grant is intended to make a positive contribution towards the cost of starting a small business. To find out more about the business grants and incentives available from Test Valley Borough Council, visit
