A 50-year-old woman was taken to Salisbury District Hospital in ‘serious’ condition. She is being described in a ‘life-threatening’ condition

Emergency services were called to a block of flats in Bell Road at 2.33am today, after a fire broke out.

According to reports, the other seven flats were affected by smoke, and two other residents were rescued from the burning flats.

The residents of the flats were taken to a nearby hotel in which they stayed while Emergency services from Andover, Sutton Scotney, Eastleigh, Whitchurch and from Dorset and Wiltshire fire service tackled the fire.

According to reports the incident was shortly brought to stop at 4:13am. Residents of the flats are currently staying at other accommodation while investigations are on-going

A spokesperson from Hampshire Police told Andover & Villages that they are investigating the circumstances of this incident.
