Wiltshire Police is appealing for witnesses after a taxi driver was assaulted on Pennings Road in Tidworth.

Just after midnight, in the early hours of Sunday 10 September 2017 an altercation took place between passengers in a taxi, when the driver tried to get one offender out of his vehicle he was assaulted.

The driver, although shaken, was not seriously injured.

A 21-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault and criminal damage and has been released under investigation.

Sgt Andrea Faircloth said: “We would like to speak to anyone who was in this area at this time to come forward – if you heard or saw anything suspicious please contact me.

“We’d also like to speak to a woman who called police but didn’t leave her name or number, if that was you please come forward again.”
