Education News | Whitchurch Children Cycling Safe | Andover & VillagesWhitchurch youngsters have a brighter and safer ride to school thanks to a safety campaign from David Wilson Homes and donation of cycle lights from Duracell Lighting.

The five-star housebuilder and lighting manufacturer have teamed up to make cycling safer in the winter months for pupils at Whitchurch C of E Primary School.

Head teacher Mrs Steven said: “Cycling to school is really beneficial for children. These lights will help our pupils to stay safe as well as fit and healthy. We’d like to thank David Wilson Homes and Duracell Lighting for the kind donation, it will make a big difference to pupils’ safety.”

Sean Toseland, from Duracell Lighting, added: “Cycle lights are one of our most popular products and we were very happy to donate some to the pupils at Whitchurch C of E Primary School. We hope they will encourage even more pupils to get on their bikes and enjoy cycling to school.”

The donation from Duracell Lighting is a part of David Wilson Homes’ commitment to working with the communities where it is building new homes.

The housebuilder also holds regular safety talks and site visits for schools close to where it is building, to highlight the hazards of playing on or near building sites.
