Weatherspoons Submits Planning Application for Tables and Chairs in George Yard

Weatherspoons Submits Planning for Tables and Chairs in George YardThe John Russell Fox Inn, better known as Weatherspoons, in Andover has submitted a planning application to Test Valley Borough Council to ‘Change use of public highway to create external seating area’ which would allow them to place three tables, twelve chairs and a Screen System in the George Yard walkway.

The application shows drawings that place the tables, chairs and screening placed to one side of the the double doors at the side entrance to the public house.

Owner of MBE, Nigel Terry, told Andover & Villages, “I don’t see an issue with George Yard being brightened, with The George being boarded up. It does look a little run-down and so I encourage anyone trying to make the area look more welcoming.”

The application comes as hoards of local businesses have been given notice to remove advertising boards from the town centre or face confiscation and financial penalties.
