A ‘yellow’ weather warning for Andover has been issued by Met Office for ‘torrential rain’
The warning is in place for most of southern England including Hampshire and Wiltshire. From midday, from 12.00pm until midnight tonight, at 23.59pm. With the heaviest downpours of rain set to be from 1pm to 4pm, as well as 6pm alone.
The Met Office is urging residents to be aware that businesses and homes could be flooded, while floodwater could cause a danger to life.
Travel disruptions are expected, reports The Met Office.
The Met Office said. “Rain is expected to move northwards across parts of central, southern and eastern England on Monday.
“This will be heavy at times, especially during the afternoon and evening. 15 to 25 mm is likely to fall quite widely, and there is potential for 40 to 60 mm to fall in a few places.
“This brings a risk of flooding and disruption, though many places will miss the worst of the rain. The rain is expected to clear away northeastwards during Monday evening and night.”
