Test Valley Borough Council’s ‘Application for consent to display an advertisement(s)’, for permission to place advertising on Andover’s roundabouts from local businesses, has been granted by council members.
The advertising signs, which have been a feature across Andover’s roundabouts from local businesses for some years, were discovered to be placed without the appropriate permission.
Andover & Villages was told by a source at TVBC that the advertising was removed from the roundabouts at the end of last year, once the error had been discovered.
At the time of the discovery, Andover’s traders were fighting a battle against Hampshire County Council about the use of advertising boards in Andover Town Centre. However, this situation has now been resolved, with traders being allowed to purchase a licence in order to place their A-boards in the street.
