The Weyhill Fair has been one of Andover’s most popular country pubs for as long as most locals can remember. Famous for its real ales, good food and rustic feel, it’s a great pub to go to for a bite to eat or a romantic date.
Well-known and loved locally, Mark Lazenby and Barry Long took over the reins in Summer 2014 and have already hosted a beer festival and various fundraising events on the fantastic Weyhill Fair grounds.
Mark and Barry brought chef, Craig Paddy, into the Weyhill Fair team, who is proud to be using locally sourced ingredients in the freshly-cooked food offered to customers. Having worked at The White Horse in Thruxton, and other places further afield, Craig says he understands today’s customers and their love of food.
Andover & Villages spoke to Mark Lazenby about his new project, and he said, “It’s been a really excellent few first months, where we have been really busy getting the Weyhill Fair back to its former glory, which is our primary aim. We have already started to see previous regulars drifting back in on a regular basis and hope that more will follow. I am really pleased with the quality of the food our chef, Craig, is producing and would encourage customers, both old and new, to come and visit us for a warm welcome, a great drink and something delicious to eat.”
Boasting a function room and outside bar, The team at The Weyhill Fair can cater for most events. An early-week menu is available on a Monday and Tuesday where a selection of the main menu is available at two courses for only £10.
