We decided to go along to the Merlin Family Day after seeing quite a lot about it on Facebook.
We initially turned up at 12.15 after a start time of Noon was publicised but the climbing wall and martial arts display hadn’t turned up and after speaking to the organiser, he suggested we come back at 1.30pm, which we did.
We went over to The Travelling cupcake first of all and bought some candyfloss from the lovely Bev, it was a bargain at £1.50 a stick and the cakes and candyfloss seemed to be going well and Bev told us there had been a really good amount of foot fall.
There was face painting, a bouncy castle and bric a brac stall. A fantastic disco was belting out pop music and a BBQ was fully manned selling burgers and hot dogs, the pub was open and a lot of the adults were looking down on their children playing below, it really was a lovely community day that is well organised by central figures in the Estate.
I am sorry we weren’t able to stay longer or even come along this evening as it promises to be a great night filled with live music.
Well done to everyone involved in the organisation of the day.
