The lucky winner of the 2014 Test Valley Visitor Guide competition has been chosen by the Mayor of Test Valley, Councillor Jan Lovell.
Cathy Howes from Bedford is the lucky winner of a short break at Best Western Chilworth Manor. Her prize includes a two night stay, breakfast and evening meals for two adults at the beautiful hotel near North Baddesley. The Mayor chose Cathy at random from hundreds of people who entered the competition which was published in this year’s visitor guide.
Cathy, who has previously lived in Fareham and knows Hampshire well, said: “I am planning a short break in spring 2015 when the beautiful country house gardens are at their best. I am looking forward to exploring the scenery and landscapes of Test Valley by getting out on some lovely country walks.”
Stephen Marriott, Manager of Best Western Chilworth Manor, said: “We are very proud to sponsor the Test Valley visitor guide competition for another year and look forward to welcoming Cathy to the hotel in the spring. There is so much to see and do in the borough; Cathy will be spoilt for choice.”
Economic Portfolio Holder, Councillor Peter Giddings, said: “With more than 3 million day trips to Test Valley every year, we are keen to continue to promote the borough as a destination of choice for short breaks, and highlight the attractions to residents as well. The visitor guide is a popular publication and gives the Council a platform to showcase the many attractions and points of interest in our area.”
The 2015 Test Valley Visitor Guide is set to be published in Spring 2015 and will be bigger and better than ever before. Pages will be filled with places to visit and attractions to see among stunning photographs of the iconic rural landscape. The guide will be available from Tourist Information Centres across the borough and surrounding counties.
