The Lights theatre in Andover has announced that they will postpone all shows with immediate effect because of COVID-19 (coronavirus).
Shows will be postponed until 10th April 2020 with the cafe and studios remaining open for the time being.
Prime Minister, Boris Johnson advised the public yesterday following a meeting of COBRA that they should avoid visiting places such as pubs, clubs and theatres.
In a statement posted on their Facebook page, The Lights said;
We understand that these are very difficult times for everyone and the wellbeing of our customers, acts and staff will always be our priority. In view of yesterday’s advice from the government, we have taken the decision to postpone all shows at The Lights until at least 10 April. The café and studios will remain open for the time being but we will keep this under review.
The team at the venue will contact all those who have booked to see a show between now and 10 April to inform them of rescheduled dates. If the new date is not convenient we will exchange to another show, issue gift vouchers or arrange a refund.
We have many very loyal customers and we truly value everyone’s understanding and support during this incredibly challenging period for the theatre industry as a whole. The Box Office will be incredibly busy over the next few days contacting people, so do please bear with us. From the whole team at The Lights, please continue to look after one another.
The Lights Theatre launched in 2006 and is owned and run by Test Valley Borough Council.
