As The Lights enters its ninth year of trading the theatre is excited to announce that it is embarking on a new business plan. The plan seeks to build on achievements so far and use them as a spring board towards delivering an exciting and dynamic future.
More specifically, the plan sets the scene for the next four years, detailing the actions required to achieve the venue’s ambitions and aspirations.
Venue Director, Heather Whittam, said: “Thriving and excellent theatres are central to creating great destinations that attract visitors and encourage them to spend money in the wider local economy. They also provide a central community hub, bringing audiences together and playing host to outreach and education programmes and local arts and theatrical groups.
“The Lights is very proud to receive its core funding from Test Valley Borough Council, and we have set our new business plan against the framework of the Council’s corporate goals.
“Key to achieving the business plan is the strong support of the venue’s enthusiastic staff and team of willing and dedicated volunteers, and of course the loyal support of residents from Test Valley and surrounding areas.”
Leader of the Council, Councillor Ian Carr, said: “It has always been my aim to have a thriving theatre for the town. This new business plan sets the stage for a very exciting future.”
The next four years will be an exciting time for the theatre, not least 2016, which marks the venue’s 10th anniversary. Watch out for announcements closer to the time!
