The Andover Town pop-up shop sees the last few days of the occupancy from Wow Cosmetics and the impending arrival of Hampshire Credit Union, on Monday 9th December 21013.

‘A great success’ is what a TVBC spokesman told Andover and Villages today, when describing the pilot scheme and how it has been received by the public and the traders, who have taken the shop over for 3 weeks at a time. So successful, we are told, that at least one of the businesses is set to sign a lease on an Andover Town centrally located shop and the other currently looking for premises. This surely shows that the incentive is working, bringing small independents from market stalls and box rooms on to the High Street and providing shoppers with new and exciting trades and products.

Monday sees the arrival of Hampshire Credit union into the pop-up shop, their website states:

United Savings & Loans supports the whole community – providing affordable loans, current accounts and saving accounts for all our members. We pride ourselves on presenting a friendly face and on reaching out into the community to lend a helping hand.

Hampshire Credit Union is a Not for Profit Organisation who occupy a desk at TVBC every Monday afternoon, to assist those who are unable to gain credit or bank accounts because of poor credit ratings.

However, until close of play on Sunday (8th December) evening, Hayley, from Wow Cosmetics, will be waiting to advise you on Bubble Bath, Bath Bombs, Soaps, Massage Bars and all of the other lovely smellies on offer in her shop. Andover & Villages visited the store in the first week of trading and bought a bag full of goodies, including sparkly strawberry massage bars that melt on the touch of your skin leaving a trail of pink glitter. Also available in other scents without glitter, these are really lovely and perfect for moisturising skin. We also tried out the Milkshake bubble bath, which has only lasted a couple of weeks because it was used so much. The shop is beautifully set up using upcycled furniture from the lovely ‘My Fab Find’ shop in Kenyons Yard on the Weyhill Road.

The nicest thing about the Andover Town Pop-Up Shop is that each time we have visited, despite which business is currently occupying it, there is always an enthusiastic and friendly smile waiting for us, along with the fantastic products and services on offer.

The TVBC Spokesman told us that the Pop Up Shop will be empty over the Christmas period after Hampshire Credit Union leave on 22nd December, but there are big plans to try and push the scheme continually forward in order to assist the small local businesses who are struggling to get on the business premises ladder.
