Councillor Ian Carr has been re-elected as the Leader of Test Valley Borough Council. The decision was announced at the authority’s Annual Council meeting on Monday, 18 May 2015.
Councillor Carr also confirmed that his Cabinet would consist of six portfolio holders: Councillor Martin Hatley (Planning and Transport); Councillor Peter Giddings (Economic); Councillor Graham Stallard (Environmental); Councillor Sandra Hawke (Housing and Environmental Health); Councillor Tony Ward (Community and Leisure); and Councillor Phil North (Corporate).
Councillor Carr said: “I am delighted to be re-elected as Leader of the Council and am looking forward to implementing the projects set out in our new corporate plan, Investing in Test Valley. I would like to thank Councillor Busk, the outgoing Corporate Portfolio Holder, for his support and hard work since he was appointed to the Cabinet in 2004, as well as welcoming Councillor North to the Cabinet as his replacement.”
The Annual Council meeting also saw Councillor Iris Andersen take over from Councillor Jan Lovell as Mayor of Test Valley. Councillor Karen Hamilton was appointed Deputy Mayor.
