Test Valley Borough Council Big Band Buffet 2015Residents are invited to attend the second community Big Band Buffet at Test Valley School, Stockbridge, on Saturday, 31 January from 11.30am to 3pm.

Residents will be able to tuck in to delicious food while having the opportunity to speak to local agencies to find out information about community safety, crime prevention, dementia awareness, fire safety and other topics. This event is aimed at the older communities of Test Valley and is open to residents aged 50 or over.

The Clive Fortune Big Band will take centre stage throughout the event, performing an array of enchanting repertoire of big band classics and jazz standards, including originals from the 1930s, 1940s and 1950s, as well as a few contemporary hits. This year’s buffet and band combination follows last year’s hugely successful event which saw around 130 residents enjoy excellent music and important information in a sociable setting.

Community and Leisure Portfolio Holder, Councillor Tony Ward, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for local residents to enjoy a social afternoon with excellent entertainment while being able to receive important information about topics that affect them. Last year’s event was a great success and we look forward to a repeat performance this year.”

The event is organised by Test Valley Borough Council and is free to attend, however tickets need to be booked in advance. There is also limited transport available to the event where required. To secure a place, please contact Sam Knight, Test Valley Borough Council Community Engagement Officer, on 01264 368841.
