Andover’s Tesco Extra petrol station has stopped operating for 24 hours a day.
The station is closed in the evenings until after 6am in the morning, the forecourt is cordoned off with cones and tape with A4 printed signs stating that due to a technical fault, the station is closed.
One commuter told Andover & Villages, “I always fill up on the way to work as its quieter and more convenient than on my way home in the evening, but for a good few months now, I have turned up and the forecourt is closed.
“There is no indication of when the ‘technical fault’ will be fixed and some mornings, it is open and I think it has been sorted, then the next day its shut.
“It is really inconvenient and means that I have to drive elsewhere to get petrol.”
A Tesco spokesperson said, “Due to technical issues with our pay at pump service, we are currently unable to offer 24 hour service at our Andover petrol station. We are sorry for any inconvenience this is causing to customers and we are working hard to improve the system as soon as possible.
“In the meantime, the petrol station will be open as normal from 06:00 to 22:00 on Monday to Saturday and from 07:00 to 21:00 on Sundays.”
