Andover Police are appealing for more information following a report of an attempted robbery in Andover.

It took place as the 16-year-old boy walked through Andover Cemetery in Church Close, between 5.45pm and 6.30pm on Wednesday, November 23.

Three males with scarves across their faces approached the boy. One of them punched him in the stomach and then the face.

The other two males then tried to remove the victim’s rucksack. When they couldn’t, the trio ran off towards the town centre.

One male wore a grey hoodie and jogging bottoms and the other two wore black puffa-style jackets.

PC Susanna Robinson, of Basingstoke CID, said: “Did you see anyone running from the cemetery that night?

“If you noticed anything suspicious, no matter how insignificant you believe it to be, please contact us as soon as possible.”

Two 16-year-old boys, one from Basingstoke and one from Andover, have been arrested in connection with this incident.

Both have been bailed until February 7, 2017.

Anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting 44160442630.
