What's On | Summer just got sunnier with The Lights new season! | Andover & VillagesThe new summer season at The Lights in Andover is guaranteed to help the sun shine this summer, with a range of shows to satisfy everyone, and tickets go on general release on Monday, 19 March!

Brimming with comedy, music, dance, theatre and children’s shows and workshops, The Lights is bursting at the seams with talent over the summer months. It is also the season that the venue plays host to productions from local creative companies and schools, proving that the road to stardom starts at home!

For those looking for a show to make them laugh out loud there are a host of top name comedians to choose from: Lee Hurst with his show Mucking About, Shappi Khorsandi with a tale of misogyny – Mistress and Misfit, Simon Evans: Genius, and Lee Nelson – Tour extended to cover legal fees for Theresa May stunt!

For something more theatrical why not experience The Pantaloons with their innovative and hilarious take on Shakespeare’s As You Like It; or the classic Midsummer Night’s Dream from our resident youth theatre, Ignite. Experience the beauty of ballet with The Little Mermaid from Ballet Theatre UK, or go a little bit more contemporary with a thrilling explosion of dance, fire and illusion from The Company of Dreams with Scheherazade and 1001 Nights.

Music is always a must too at the venue, with lots of original music from The Mustangs, Flats and Sharps, Noble Jacks and Jackie Oates – folk, blue grass and blues live and local in the Arena. Not forgetting the tribute shows and big sounds from some of the greats including Marty Wilde, The Pasadena Roof Orchestra, and for the first time, The Zoots – Sound of the Sixties, and Blurd – the original and only truly authentic tribute to Blur.

Not forgetting fantastic family theatre with Doctor Doolittle – a brand new musical show for all the family, as well as puppetry and music with Children of the Moon, and add a sprinkle of children’s holiday workshops for May half term and the summer holidays, then the programme is complete!

There really is something for everyone to enjoy and experience at The Lights, whether you are a regular supporter or being tempted for the first time. Don’t forget that the venue is also supported by The Arena Café and Bar to enjoy a pre-show or interval drink, or just to pop in for a coffee and cake with friends.

The Lights is more than just a theatre, it is a community hub for arts and entertainment in Test Valley. Why not come and see for yourself?
