High winds and rains have been knocking over bins and blowing branches off trees in the Andover area over the last 24 hours and it is set to continue.
The storm has been named ‘Atiyah’ by the Irish met Office.
At around 5am this morning (Monday 9th December 2019), the power went out to homes in Andover & the Villages, with some describing it as a power surge where the electric came straight back on, with others reporting being without power for a few minutes.
The Andover area is not subject to a weather warning from the Met Office, however, the high winds currently being experienced speak for themselves.
The high winds aren’t expected to settled until after Tuesday 10th December 2019.
Householders are recommended to secure items that may blow away in the winds.
