Planning permission has been submitted to remove the ‘Millennium Man’ statue from the floral clock area in Andover, in order to replace it with a life size statue of the Leader of Test Valley Borough Council, Cllr Ian Carr.

The statue will be an exact replica of Cllr Carr and will be made by local company, Nisansakası.

The statue will also feature a laurel wreath on Cllr Carr’s head, in homage to the removed Millennium Man, which will be moved to its new home in Andover’s multi-storey car park later today, Friday 1st April 2016.

Spokesperson, Mrs Farils Pool told Andover & Villages, “We hope everyone will enjoy looking at the statue, which will make a welcome addition to the Floral Clock area of Andover.

“The project honours Cllr Carr and all he has done for the area.

“The statue will be completed and installed exactly a year today.”
