Star Shines at Summer CarnivalTest Valley Borough Council’s Recycling Star could be seen strutting his stuff through the town on Sunday as part of the spectacular Andover Carnival.

Staff and councillors from the local authority joined the Recycling Star to help raise awareness of the importance of recycling and show just how simple it can be.

And to help keep the carnival spirit alive, residents are invited to take part in a fantastic competition to win one of three family tickets to Paultons Park. Simply like and share the Recycling Stars Facebook page and like one of the competition posts to be in with a chance of winning. The competition closes on 31 July 2015 and the winner will be announced shortly after.

Portfolio holder for environmental services, Councillor Graham Stallard, said: “It is always such a wonderful day at the carnival. There is a fantastic atmosphere and a real party feel in the town. The floats look amazing and everyone who takes part makes such an effort with the brilliant costumes and displays. I would also like to thank all the staff who volunteered to give so freely of their own time.

“And of course there will be cause for further celebration for the three lucky families who win the Paultons Park tickets! I would urge everybody to log on to Facebook now to enter the competition.”

Those who like the Recycling Stars page will also receive regular updates including interesting facts as well as hints and tips on recycling.
