Hampshire police theft of bicycles in andover

Police are appealing for information and urging residents to review their security after seven bicycles were stolen from four different locations in Andover between Saturday, February 1 and Monday, February 3.
The bikes were stolen from gardens or unlocked garages in Rack Close, Launcelot Close, Bluebell Close and Porters Close.
Stolen bicycles:
  • A black Carrera Kraken bike worth £400
  • A white Giant Def 2 bike worth £650
  • A red BMX worth £300
  • A silver Trek 3500 bike worth £900
  • A black GT BMX worth £900
  • A blue United BMX worth £300
  • A blue GT Aggressor 3 bike worth £400.
Detective Constable Chris Phillips said: “The combined total of these bikes is nearly £4000. Have you been offered a bike for sale which matches the description of one of these bikes?
“We would appeal for information that may assist in recovering the bikes and identifying the offenders.
“The majority of these bikes had been left insecure and I would therefore urge bicycle owners to review their security.”
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Det Con Phillips at Andover police station by phoning 101. Mini-Com users can call the police on 18001 101. Information can be given anonymously by calling the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
