People enjoying the outdoor theatre last year at Sparsholt College
Sparsholt College’s beautiful Library Garden will provide the backdrop to one of Shakespeare’s best known plays, Much Ado About Nothing. This comic tale of love, honour and court politics will be performed by open-air garden theatre specialists, Chapterhouse Theatre Company on Saturday 12 July 2014. Picnic rugs should be unfurled and ready for a 6.30pm start, with gates open from 5pm for those who would like to picnic in advance of the performance.
Event organiser Philip Holroyd-Smith said: “With the College situated in the heart of the Hampshire countryside we have the perfect location for a summer evening enjoying classic Shakespeare. There will be plenty of refreshments available on site but guests are very welcome to bring along their rugs and camping chairs, nibbles and picnics, bubbles and beverages for a relaxed evening of culture and fun.”
Raise a glass with family and friends and enjoy the story of the incomparable Beatrice and her begrudging match Benedick as they are tricked into confessing their love for each other with hilarious and heart-stopping romantic consequences.
