Test Valley Borough Council’s Sparkle Day team visited the Spanish Town area of Andover on Thursday 25 February, to help with a spot of spring cleaning.
During the day, the team swept streets and trimmed shrubs, removed graffiti, litter and weeds, and cleared more than three tonnes of waste. The Sparkle Day team also provided recycling information to more than 350 homes in the area.
Environmental portfolio holder, Councillor Graham Stallard, said: “I would like to thank Councillor Iris Anderson, Councillor John Cockaday and anti-litter campaigner, Manuela Wahnon, for their support on the day to help the team to litter pick. They really helped to make the area sparkle!”
The next Sparkle Day will be on Monday 21 March in West Wellow. For more information visit www.testvalley.gov.uk/love
