Local News | Soaps and Suds at Andover Fire StationHoses and helmets were swapped for soap and suds at the Andover Fire Station Charity Car wash earlier this month.

Local firefighters and the Lockrite All Stars netball team scrubbed and polished over 70 cars raising approximately £350 in the process. Funds will go to the Fire Fighters Charity and towards kit for the newly formed All Stars.

Donna Bowsher organised the event: “I’m a firefighter and have been for 14 years. We decided to do a wash to raise money for our new team and a fire charity.”

The netball team proved the most popular washers on the day and due to the events success it may make a return next year.

Andover resident Rebecca Jeremy said: “The car wash at the fire station was brimming with activity with lovely ladies ready to wash, and my car certainly needed it! It was a fun way to raise money and I certainly would go again.”
