To get into the festive spirit, Rookwood School has been taking part in a number of Christmas activities over the past weeks.

The Growers Club recently gifted their neighbours at Andover Nursing Home a beautiful handmade Christmas wreath. The club’s senior members made the wreath from natural materials around the school, with the help of Mrs Yarlett.

The residents at the Nursing Home were thrilled to receive the wreath and Sheila, a resident at the home, thanked Matthew, the Senior Grower, with a warm hug.

The wreath has now been displayed for all the residents and visitors to enjoy this Christmas.

Following the gifting of the wreath, the Cookery Club shared their homemade mince pies with the residents while the Prep School sang Christmas Carols. Everyone loved the children’s rendition of ‘Away in A Manger’ and their enthusiastic performance of ‘On The Way to Bethlehem’.

The children then sang a very warm Happy Birthday to Betty, the Nursing Home’s oldest resident.
