Recycling Star Welcomes Three New SupportersTest Valley Borough Council is calling for schools, parish councils and other community organisations to sign up to its Recycling Stars Supporters campaign to help to share key messages about recycling.

The 9th Andover Beavers, 11th Andover Cub Scout pack and 10th Romsey Beaver group are the latest clubs to become official Recycling Stars Supporters. Youngsters took part in games, quizzes and even a compost challenge when the Council’s Recycling Star visited them to advise the children and leaders about what they can and can’t recycle in their brown bins. The children also learnt about some of the items that are made from the rubbish people throw away.

Environmental Portfolio Holder, Councillor Graham Stallard, said: “We introduced Recycling Stars Supporters to help us to teach the public about the benefits of recycling. I‘m really pleased that we have fantastic support from these three community groups who have pledged to share their knowledge with friends and families to encourage them to recycle more and waste less.”
