A power cut which hit Andover and surrounding villages including Whitchurch affected thousands of homes and forced a school to close early.
SP10 postcodes and RG28 and possibly Kingsclere areas are affected by the ‘blackout’ according to Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks.
Local Church of England Primary School was forced to send back all of its pupils home before 11.00am as it couldn’t produce any hot lunches for its children.
SSEN reported the blackout at 10.42am with full restoration expected at 2.00pm.
SSEN sent out the following on Twitter: “We’re sorry for the #PowerCut affecting #Andover and the surrounding areas. We have engineers en route & aim to restore power by 14:00.”
