Local News | Popular Local Hotel Goes up in Flames | Andover & VillagesPotters Heron Hotel in Ampfield nr Romsey went up in flames last night.

The blaze broke out about 5pm on 19th March 2018.

Fire crews from across the county attended the large thatch fire in Ampfield, with 25 engines and several support vehicles, including two aerial ladder platforms, at the scene. Crews used breathing apparatus, hose reels, jets and foam to tackle the fire.

At its peak about 170 emergency service personnel were in attendance and appliances came from 25 fire stations across Hampshire.

Nobody was injured in the incident and the crews got the fire under control as they fought to save the two storey hotel.
