Earlier this week, two vehicles were broken into in Longparish with items taken from inside.
One of the vehicles was unlocked at the time of the incident.
Hampshire Police have seen an increase in thefts from motor vehicles throughout the whole of rural Test Valley, many of which could have been prevented by taking the valuables out of the vehicles in the first place.
This sort of crime is opportunist, and the criminals will happily break into a vehicle that looks as if it may have anything worth taking, they know that people will try to hide valuables in bags or under coats etc. so will often target vehicles with these sort of thing on display.
Please remind any friends or family who often walk in rural locations to bear this in mind when parking their vehicle.
