Local News | Police Hunt Hedgehog Killers | Andover & VillagesPolice are hunting for three young men who were spotted verociously attacking a hedgehog on Galahad Close in Andover last week.

The sustained attack saw the trio kicking the defenceless animal, and then hitting it with a metal pole.

The hedgehog was severley injured and sadly died.

Hedgehogs currently have a degree of protection from the law. They are listed on schedule 6 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, making it illegal to capture or kill them using certain methods. They are also protected from cruelty through the Wild Mammals Protection Act 1996.

Andover Advertising with Andover & VillagesPolice launched an investigation, pleading for information on their social media accounts and also posting flyers through the doors surrounding the location of the incident.
