Police are continuing their appeal to trace down a missing man from Winchester.

Anthony Hayer, 80, went missing yesterday at 12.30pm (Sunday, 10th of March) after leaving his home address in Winchester.

Police said in their release that Mr Hayer said he was ‘popping’ out for a short walk.

Inspector Louise Kennedy, said: “Together with Anthony’s family, we are growing increasingly concerned for his welfare.

“Anthony has links to the Ringwood area so it’s possible he might have travelled outside of Winchester.

“If you live in the Winchester or surrounding areas, please check your sheds and outbuildings in case Anthony is sheltering inside.

“If you have any information that could help us, please call us on 101 as soon as possible.”

Anthony is described as white, with short black hair and of slim build.

He was last seen wearing two olive green fleeces, a white shirt, loose fitting brown cord trousers, and a green hat with three fishing flies on. He may have been using a walking stick.
