Local news | Police Appeal Over Taxi Drunk Damage | Andover & VillagesPolice are appealing for information after a taxi was damaged in Amesbury.

At approximately 1am on 31 July 2016, a group of four people – two men and two women – picked up a taxi from the High Street in Amesbury.

They travelled in the taxi to Solstice Park Services and then went inside to buy items. When they did so, the taxi driver discovered one of the group had been sick inside the back of the taxi. As a result, the taxi was unusable.

When she approached the group and asked them to clean it up, they became abusive by shouting and making threats to physically assault her.

PC Jonathan Brunt, of Amesbury Police Station, said: “This was no doubt a distressing incident for the taxi driver and I would like to appeal to anyone who may have information on who the offenders may be. I’d also like to appeal directly to the group involved to come forward and speak to police.”

Anyone with information should call PC Brunt on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
