We are appealing for information after a 17-year-old was assaulted in Basingstoke.

The assault took place in Oakridge Road, Oakridge, sometime between 4.30pm and 4.45pm on Saturday, February 18.

A 17-year-old was found with injuries to his head and hands. He was taken to Basingstoke hospital but was later discharged.

Detective Constable Lewis Ambler, of Basingstoke CID, said: “This is being treated as an isolated incident, and there is no suggestion of any risk of wider harm to the public.

“Our investigation is at an early stage and we are keen to establish exactly what took place.

“Anyone who saw what happened, or anyone has any information about what took place, should call us on 101.
