Police Appeal - Attempted Fraud in AmesburyWiltshire Police is appealing for witnesses and information about an attempted fraud which occurred in Amesbury.

At approximately 3:30 pm on Friday 26th February 2016 a man entered the Co-op Store, Archers Gate and tried to purchase goods to the value of £3.19 using a fraudulent £50 note.

Staff immediately saw that the note was fake and challenged the man who walked off into the Archers Gate estate, leaving the note and goods behind.

The suspect is described as of slim build, aged 25-30 years old and with short black hair. He is believed to have an Irish accent.

Officers have exhausted all other enquiries in order to identify this person and would now like the assistance of the public.
