Just after 1:00 am this morning, Wednesday 5 October 2016, colleagues from MOD Police located an overturned Land Rover Defender.
The vehicle had a trailer and was carrying a mini digger all of which were blocking Gomeldon Road.
The driver and any passengers had left the scene.
Wiltshire Police officers attended and all of the vehicles were found to have been stolen, the Land Rover from the Harnham area and the trailer and digger from an address in Shipton Bellinger. The thefts had occurred overnight and the owners were not aware.
Officers are appealing for anyone who has information regarding these thefts or the collision to come forward.
There are steps that can be taken to reduce the risk of vehicle crime:
• Ensure vehicles are locked
• Do not leave any valuable property in vehicles
• Try not to leave vehicles in locations which are poorly lit
• Do not leave doors or windows open
• Report any suspicious people or incidents to the police straight away.
