Last night, Thursday 3 October 2019, police were called after a fire erupted in Station Street, Tidworth.

Wiltshire and the Dorset Fire Service, who were on scene, warned police just prior to 11 p.m.

People near the Lloyds bank site were evacuated, no injuries were reported.

“We’re currently investigating the blaze to see how the fire has begun. We want to hear from anyone who has knowledge about it,” says DS Matt Smith of Salisbury CID.

  • Did you see anyone acting suspiciously in the area?
  • Did you see any suspicious vehicles?
  • Did you drive along Station Road between 10-1045 pm and have dash cam?

Inspector Liz Coles said: “We are working closely with our colleagues in the fire service to establish the cause of this fire. Local residents will likely see an increased police presence as carry out our investigations. It is important that anyone with information comes forward as this could easily have been a very serious incident. We are grateful for any help from the community and appreciate the understanding of local residents as we go about our work.”
