Local News | Paper Ten Pound Notes go out of Circulation | Andover & VillagesPaper ten pound notes go out of circulation on Thursday 1st March 2018 following the launch of the plastic ten pound note in September 2018.

On the 1st March 2018, the paper ten pound note will no longer be legal tender, you will not be given one from a retailer or a cash machine, if you are given one by accident, then do not accept it or return it immediately.

If you still have any after the deadline, you can visit your local bank or building society, post office or the Bank of England’s offices to have them traded into new ones.

The new ten pound notes are apparently much harder for forgers to replicate, which is why the Bank of England have introduced them, the new plastic £20 note is not expected to launch until 2020.
