Over 2000 prospective Peter Symonds College students attended the recent Fresher’s Fair, held in conjunction with the new academic Taster Days for the Lower Sixth. The Fair highlights the College’s “Connect” Sport and Enrichment Activities programme and the huge range of courses on offer.

From Amnesty International to Zumba there are over 125 different activities, with over 200 sessions to choose from each week. Some activities see students working towards additional qualifications such as LAMDA Public Speaking, First Aid and Sports Leaders Level 3, whilst others aim to improve student’s health and wellbeing, or engage students with current action groups such as the David Attenborough Appreciation Society. The arts are well catered for with music, dance and drama opportunities and the college’s sports teams are some of the most successful in the country.

Lynne Gardner, Head of Department for Activities, enthused: “The College Connect Enrichment programme provides an excellent opportunity to acquire those sought-after attributes such as leadership, breadth of experience, self-motivation and enthusiasm.”
