Tesco Andover had to close on Friday night (27th July 2018) due to the ceiling falling in.

Customers turning up to the store late Friday night were turned away by staff in the car park and were told that the ceiling had fallen in and that the shop was closed.

Tesco Andover reopened for business on Saturday, however, some aisles were closed off with danger signs taped to metal caging. Clearly visible were ceiling panels that had fallen open above the shopping food aisles.

The signs said,

‘Due to a water leak, this area is closed off for safety reasons. Sorry for any inconvenience caused.’

Tesco Andover has been plagued with issues surrounding water leaks, it is a normal sight to see buckets across the store collecting water throughout the year. Additionally, several times a year, the store has issues with a sewage type smell.

Tesco has been approached for comment.
