Winton Community Academy’s new prefect team was introduced to a group of proud parents. The event which took place on Tuesday 12th June, was to issue students with their new blazers and ties and to reveal the much-anticipated news of the names of the head boy and head girl. Now in its 4th year the quality of applications and interviews was truly inspiring. In an outstanding field of young people there were two students who epitomised what Winton Community Academy is all about. Roman Pitman our new head Boy and Ellie Harris our new head girl are hardworking, committed, intelligent and passionate young people.
Nathan Thomas, Headteacher, said, “I am delighted with all the new prefect team and look forward to seeing them in our weekly meeting to discuss ways in which we can continue to improve the Academy for the young people we serve. Both parent voice and student voice are really important at Winton and regular meetings with the prefects is one way we can ensure the voice of the students is heard and acted upon.”
Roman Pitman, Head Boy said, “I feel so proud and elated to be given this role which has such potential to have a positive influence over the school, which has matured and developed me for four years. All the prefects are going to strive to improve and give back to Winton and the surrounding community… we cannot wait to get started”
