Hundreds of clubbers joined in the party to celebrate the opening of new Andover venue Cameo & Vinyl last week.

Fire eaters, stilt walkers and other multi skilled performers added to the carnival atmosphere at the London Street club. DJ Pat Sharp launched the Vinyl retro room, with Charlie Hedges of Kiss FM on the decks in Cameo the following night.

The club has been transformed thanks to a £250,000 investment by owner Deltic Group. It now boasts exquisite décor, glamorous booths and table service together with a premium drinks offer and cocktail masterclasses. The smoking terrace has also been restyled.

Clubbers can choose between the retro classics in Vinyl or the current dance hits in Cameo or a mix of the two.

General manager Howard Cooper said: “It is a new era for the club and we are delighted with such a positive response to the launch. We are all about delivering great nights out and memorable experiences and this is just the start. We are looking to build on this success.”

Cameo & Vinyl opens from Wednesdays to Saturdays. On the new Wednesday over 21s night there is a George Michael tribute act on Wednesday 22 July and a tribute to Olly Murs on Wednesday 29 July in Vinyl.

Jon Clark of ITV2’s popular Love Island show will meet fans when he makes a guest appearance in Cameo on Saturday 1 August.

Pat Sharp spoke exclusively to Andover & Villages and said, “I had a great night opening the revamped Cameo & Vinyl in Andover recently. The crowd were most welcoming and we did loads of selfies!

“Walking through town before and after was idyllic and I thought Andover was altogether very quaint”
