Local man, Stuart Blake has had a craving for some years to put his builder days behind him and launch a new eatery in the town. December 2013 saw Stuart making that final step and deciding that he was going to go for it, and on Thursday 29th May 2014, ‘Butters’ opened its doors for the first time at the top of Andover High Street.

Stuart told Andover & Villages, “I just felt the town needed more Ooomph and that the empty shops needed filling with something to bring the town alive. No bigger chains will want to come to a town full of empty shops and so I am here, filling one of the spaces and hope that Andover will support me and use what we have here.”

Butters is sourcing their bread and meat from local businesses, Burbidges Bakery on the Weyhill Road and Gardners Butchers in Ludgershall. Stuart says that he, in turn, wants to support local shops.

Butters isn’t any old cafe popping up in the High Street; the menu is vast and includes all day breakfasts, steaks, burgers, salads and sandwiches and with an extra twist, turning into a wine bar by night, but with food also being served until 10pm.

Butters is open every day of the week 9am-11pm.
