Motorcyclist killed in collision at CottonworthRoads policing officers are seeking witnesses to a collision on a country road which claimed the life of a motorcyclist last night (Thursday, July 30).

At around 9pm, a Citroen Berlingo was travelling along Romsey Road towards Romsey when it was in collision with a Yamaha R6 motorbike. The rider of the motorbike, a 31-year-old man living at Andover, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Berlingo, a 42-year-old man from North Baddesley, was very shocked by the incident but uninjured.

It is believed that the victim’s next-of-kin are overseas, and it may take some time for him to be formally named.

Police have spoken to a number of witnesses at the scene, but are very keen to hear from anyone else who saw this collision.

Anyone who did is urged to call 101 and ask for the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, quoting Operation Fork.
