The end of year in Performing Arts saw our largest cast to date performing the wonderful Mary Poppins. Students have spent months rehearsing to bring their own take on the musical to the Winton stage.
Students worked really hard meshing together the complicated and demanding singing, acting and dancing to ensure the show was performed at the highest standard we have come to expect from the students at Winton.
This cast was also one of the youngest with more than half of the cast drawn from Year 7 and Year 8. Also, some of the cast were finding their feet in their very first school production, including Mary Poppins herself played by the very talented Pinar Okur. There were also notable performances from Katy Smith, who is fast gaining a reputation for the quality she brings to her roles, and of course Roman Pitman who brought his own quirky style to the character of George.
Of course, it goes without saying that every single student in the cast, the backstage crew and the technical crew all worked together to work their magic once again.
Well done to them all for delivering such a fantastic show once again, I cannot wait to see what they do next year under the direction of Miss Franklin as she takes over the lead for visual and performing arts
