Local Food News | Mars Recalls Choking Hazard Chocolate Bars | Andover & VillagesChocolate giant, Mars has recalled several makes of its chocolate bars amid concerns of a choking hazard.

The recall involves products that are made in the Netherlands, at the Mars factory in the southern town of Veghel and was put in place after a customer found a red piece of plastic in a Snickers bar bought on 8th January 2016 in Germany.

Following his complaint to Mars, the plastic was traced back to the Veghel factory which determined that it came from a protective cover used in the plant’s manufacturing process.

The recall currently covers 55 countries, including the UK.

The products listed as being affected are;

The UK recall from consumers concerns only the products below, with the stated ‘best before’ dates, which were manufactured in the Netherlands and distributed in the UK.
