Man Jailed for 10 Years For Drug Offences

A Portsmouth man has been jailed for more than 10 years after pleading guilty to drugs offences, following his arrest in Glencoe Road on 27 January 2017.

David Mark Rewcastle (4/12/84) of Farmside Gardens, Hilsea, Portsmouth, pleaded guilty at Portsmouth Crown Court on 23 July 2018 to:

  • 4 x concerned in the production of a controlled drug of class B – cannabis
  • possess with intent to supply a drug of class B – cannabis
  • 2 x possess with intent to supply a drug of class A – cocaine
  • Possess a weapon for the discharge of a noxious liquid/gas / electrical device

He has been sentenced to a total of 124 months.

Harvey James Ransom (10/7/96) of Wells Close, Baffins, Portsmouth, received a 19 months sentence suspended for one year and ordered to carry out 50 hours of unpaid work after he pleaded guilty to:

  • 4 x concerned in the production of a controlled drug of Class B – cannabis
  • Acquire / use / possess criminal property
  • possess with intent to supply a controlled drug of Class B – cannabis

Amber Louise Field (25/3/96) of High Street, Cosham, received a four-month sentence suspended for one year and ordered to carry out 50 hours unpaid work and pay a £500 fine after she pleaded guilty to:

  • Acquire / use / possess criminal property

Detective Chief Inspector Nick Heelan said: “Rewcastle received a substantial sentence, which highlights the seriousness of his offences.

“This sends a clear message that we will not tolerate drug dealing in Portsmouth, which I hope reassures our local community.

“I would urge anyone with information about drug dealing to call police on 101, or in an emergency or if a crime is in progress call 999.”
