The Appleshaw Fete & Flower Committees are very pleased to announce that the new MP for north-west Hampshire Kit Malthouse will be handing out the well-deserved prizes and traditional cups to allotment holders, gardeners, bakers, photographers, flower arrangers, brewers and artists – both adults and children – at 3.30pm on Fete day August Bank Holiday Monday. This is a very pleasurable duty that has over the years been carried out by Kit’s predecessor Sir George Young. The high standards set in preceding years by entrants will no doubt be maintained ensuring that the 84th Flower Show classes will be as competitive as ever.
The Fete will be officially opened at 1pm by Major Angus Tilney and runs until 4pm with continuous entertainment and games to keep all amused, plus hog roast, BBQ and beer, tea, cakes and ices to keep the whole family fed. Classic Cars and Vintage Vehicles, Dog Show, traditional games and stalls such as bric-a-brac and books, face painting and children’s activities including bouncy castles, fancy dress and family races complete the afternoon.
Free entry and free parking in a large car park field make sure that all are welcome! So do come for lunch and stay for tea!
