A 27 year old man from Ludgershall has been arrested following a routine vehicle stopped in Durrington. Amesbury Neighbourhood Policing Team stopped the vehicle for a minor traffic offence on 10 June 2015. The vehicle was searched and a large quantity of cash was recovered.
The man, from Ludgershall, was arrested on suspicion of the intent to supply drugs and has subsequently been bailed pending further enquiries.
Officers are still trying to trace a second male who ran off from the car when it was stopped.
Sergeant Tina Osborn, Amesbury Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) said:
“We are keen to tackle drug dealing and cultivation using a proactive policing approach towards to help solve the problem.
“Therefore we are taking action using routine checks to flush out criminals who chose to operate in our area. As a result we have seen a number of drugs arrest recently, which will serve to reduce the amount crime locally.
“Most people won’t ever have to come across drug criminality but we want to reduce the amount of drugs on the streets and reduce the number of young people coming into contact with them. This will be achieved by actions such as those taken on the 10 June and with assistance from members of the public.”
