Winton Community Academy year eight students starting the year in a magical way with a trip to Harry Potter studios.
The students who had studied the second book in the series ‘Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets’ as part of their year eight curriculum were blown away by the incredible sets and mysterious artefacts.
Starting in the journey by moving through the cinema screen through the front door or Hogwarts into the great hall, then traveling through the forbidden forest with giant spiders swinging from the ceiling and concluding with a a trip down Diagonally to buy some chocolate frogs.
“Watching the awe and wonder on students faces as the saw the full scale model of Hogwarts and jumped on the Hogwarts Express was a joy to behold. As a school we believe that learning should take place in the classroom and beyond and firmly believe in relevant trips to inspire young people. This was a great trip linking to our literacy drive and engaging students in the magical world of Harry Potter” Nathan Thomas Headteacher.
The students were an absolute delight even after one too many Butter beers in ‘The Three Broomsticks’. The staff and other guests in the studio complemented the students on their politeness and enthusiasm for learning.
Pupil Katy Smith, aged 8 said, “It was an amazing magical and inspiring trip. I loved the Hogwarts express but was not quite so keen on the spiders!”
